The anime adaptation of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, titled Sekiro: No Defeat, will hit Japanese theaters on September 4, 2026, for a three-week run.
This marks the first major screen adaptation of a FromSoftware project. The original voice cast from the game will reprise their roles, and all animation is being done by hand — with no use of generative AI. The film will also screen out of competition at the prestigious Annecy International Animation Festival in June. Following its Japanese theatrical run, Crunchyroll will stream the film worldwide, excluding Russia, Belarus, China, Korea, and Japan.
